The WSRA own two ex-Great Western Railway steam locomotives - nos 6412 and 4561. Both have worked extensively on the Railway over the years.
Members enjoy travel concessions on the Railway and receive the Association magazine the Journal four times a year.
The WSRA is a major shareholder in the West Somerset Railway plc. Three nominated members of the WSRA Board are also directors of the WSR plc.
The Quantock Belle Luxury Dining Train is owned and operated by the Association.
Younger volunteers have their own group, Trackers, which organises training, work parties, visits and other activities
