 • A Festival of Steam...
Visiting our Winter Steam Festival is a great way of getting a breath of fresh air between Christmas and the New Year. The day is suitable for families and enthusiasts alike and features all the delights of a traditional Great Western branch line in winter.

At least three engines, selected from the following pool, will be working the timetable on 29 December. Engines are of course subject to availability

 • Auto Trains...
The very popular Great Western Auto Train - featuring the superbly restored trailer no 178 hauled by GWR 0-6-0PT no 6412 - will work all the services shown as "Auto" in the timetables on this website. We regret that the Auto Train does not have buffet facilities or toilets and is not accessible to passengers with wheelchairs.

Museums open at Bishops Lydeard and Washford.
 • Connecting Bus Services...
On 29 December, there is a frequent First Bus service between Taunton and Bishops Lydeard Station - service 28A. WSR tickets are not valid on these services except return tickets to Taunton issued by Booking Offices at Minehead, Dunster, Blue Anchor, Watchet and Williton. Full timetable details are available from First Bus on 01823 272033 or www.firstgroup.com.
 • Car Parking...
Free parking will be available at Bishops Lydeard - please arrive at least 30 minutes before the departure of the train you wish to catch!

 • Tickets...
Please note that NO privilege tickets, free passes or vouchers are valid on 29 December. Discounts are available on Rover Tickets purchased in advance - use the Booking Form. Rover Tickets allow you the complete freedom of the line and purchasing them is the best way of enjoying the Festival.
 • Working Timetable...
A copy of the complete working timetable, which includes full details of all train workings and engine and coaching set diagrams, can be purchased from Minehead Station on the day of the event for £2.50.

You can book Rover Tickets at a discount in advance in the following ways...
· By telephone, using your Credit Card. Please ring 01643 704996, 9am-4pm Monday-Friday
· By completing the Booking Form
· In person at Minehead Station 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday
