WSR Weathervanes...
Harry

• Steam in the Wind Weathervanes...
Harry Kirkland is a volunteer at Bishops Lydeard, and a veteran of the footplate during the last few years of steam in the local area. He also has another interesting sideline - constructing made-to-order hand-made weathervanes in the shape of steam locomotives, mostly from the Great Western Railway. The unique weathervanes are very suitable for garden buildings and make an excellent present.
The materials used include aluminium sheet and brass. All finished in authentic liveries and fully lined-out, and weather-protected. The designs range from £70 for a "Pannier" to £145 for a "Castle". Other designs include a "Collett Goods" at £125 and a "Manor" at £140. A "King" design weighs in at £150.
Harry often exhibits a few of the designs at the Minehead end of platform 2 at Bishops Lydeard Station, and one can always be viewed further along the platform on the roof of the Station Shop.
Harry can be contacted by EMAIL.
