At the age of 13 years and above young people can become involved in the full range of volunteer activities and be fully covered by the WSR plc's insurance policy. These activities can be independent of their parents or guardian, but must have full written consent of the parent/guardian. Between the ages of 8 and 12 inclusive, young people are only able to become involved with volunteer activities if accompanied by a parent, guardian or an adult that their parent/guardian has nominated to look after them. It is advisable for young people below the age of 13 who wish to carry out volunteer activities to seek private accident insurance cover. Eight years of age is the lower limit for young people to get actively involved in volunteer activities. All Trackers are issued with a special WSR Staff Identity Card. Trackers must also be a member of the WSRA (either in their own right or as part of a family membership). In addition to working on the railway itself on specific activities, Trackers are also able to enjoy 'Special Working Days' and visits to other heritage steam railways. A comprehensive programme of special working days, visits and other events and opportunities has been planned for 2002. All Trackers receive a regular Newsletter, which is full of news, views and reports of their activities. If you would like to become a member of Trackers simply complete the application form and forward it to the address shown. You will be welcomed into a fast increasing group of young people with whom you will share and develop a mutual interest. With the help of the Trackers team the West Somerset Railway will grow and flourish for future generations.
