Once again the West Somerset Railway will echo to the sight, sound and smell of many mighty steam engines as they gather for the Rally - this time, for the first time, at the WSRA Fields near Norton Fitzwarren...
A glittering array of superb machinery will be in action alongside the exciting new railway developments at the very southern end of Britain’s longest heritage railway, and 2008 looks like beating all records with some of the country’s finest examples of vintage transport on display. To celebrate the events coming of age, a number of special and additional events and attractions are planned for this year.
Gleaming engines, powerful steam engines, tractors and road rollers, elegant vintage cars and motorcycles, superb fire engines, buses, commercial and military vehicles will all be put through their paces in the arena to thrill the crowds. Horse drawn exhibits make a return visit to the event
The West Somerset Railway Steam Fayre & Vintage Vehicle Rally - well known at the former location at nearby Bishops Lydeard - is sure to continue to provide a friendly atmosphere and good value for money. Backing up the transport exhibits will be displays, stalls, trade stands, children’s entertainments and ample refreshment facilities.
So, book the dates now and bring the whole family along to enjoy a fabulous day out – with so much to see there really is something for everyone.

• Connecting Classic Bus Service...

An impressive classic bus service will run from Bishops Lydeard Station to the Rally. Frequent service and meeting every train from Minehead at Bishops Lydeard Station. Also, An equally impressive fleet of classic buses will run frequently from Taunton Railway Station (downside) direct to the Rally. Travel to and from the Rally on these classic bus services is free.
