 • Cream tea and flowers for Mum...
Spend Mothering Sunday with us on 2 March, enjoying a leisurely train ride and a delicious Somerset Cream Tea. You may start your journey from either Bishops Lydeard or Minehead, but must make sure that you are on the *4.00pm steam-hauled service from Minehead, or the *4.10pm steam hauled service from Bishops Lydeard, which is when your cream tea will be served to your table.
Your options for the day are as follows...
1Depart Bishops Lydeard at 10.40am (steam) and return from Minehead at *4.00pm
2Depart Bishops Lydeard at 12.40pm (steam) and return from Minehead at *4.00pm
3Depart Bishops Lydeard at 14.25 (steam) and return from Minehead at *4.00pm
4Depart Minehead at 10.30am and return from Bishops Lydeard at *4.10pm (steam)
5Depart Minehead at 12.30pm and return from Bishops Lydeard at *4.10pm (steam)
6Depart Minehead at 2.15pm and return from Bishops Lydeard at *4.10pm (steam)
* you must specify the train on which you would like the cream tea when making your booking - either the 4.10pm out of Bishops Lydeard or the 4.00pm out of Minehead
The journey between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead or vice versa (one way) takes around an hour and a quarter. There is plenty of time to stretch your legs and look around during the break between your outward and return journeys.
Seats are reserved for you on the *4.00pm out of Minehead or the *4.10pm out of Bishops Lydeard when your cream tea will be served and the flowers will be presented. Seats are not reserved on the other part of your journey and this may be chosen on the day itself.
