The Branch curves away from the main line at Norton Fitzwarren. The Junction was once a single turnout from the single broad gauge Bristol & Exeter line, but the pointwork eventually became very complicated by the 1930s with the four track main line from Cogload ending here, along with the double line lines from Milverton and Bishops Lydeard. Crossing the alluvial plain in the Vale of Taunton Deane, the gradients are gentle enough until Longlands is reached, when the line starts the climb to Bishops Lydeard

The maps are in black and white to ensure smaller file sizes so they load as quickly as possible on your browser. They are also fairly crude, given the screen resolution of most screens, but I have added as much detail as possible and hope it is still readable and of use.
