 The Quantock Belle Luxury Dining Train in 2002

Stop Press A two-course seasonal meal will be served to diners aboard a special "Quantock Belle" from Bishops Lydeard on the evening of 6 December 2002 in conjunction with the Dunster by Candlelight event.

The Luxury Dining Trains on the West Somerset Railway, started way back in 1980, continue in 2002 with the very popular and long-running "Quantock Belle" dining train.

All Quantock Belle Luxury Dining Trains depart from Bishops Lydeard in the Vale of Taunton Deane, normally at 12.50pm for the Sunday Luncheon service, and normally at 7.00pm for the Saturday Evening Dinner service.

All-day Dining Service
During our Steam Gala and other special events the Quantock Belle Luxury Dining Train rolling stock will be attached to one of the Railway’s standard rake of passenger coaches and run throughout the day, serving a range of hot meals, snacks and drinks, with personal service direct to your table. There is no need to book for these trains - just turn up, enjoy some good food and a drink.

Sunday Lunch Dining Trains. A three-course luncheon with coffee is served on the outward journey, with tea and a selection of cakes served on the return trip.

Saturday Evening Dining Trains. A four-course dinner with coffee is served on the outward journey, with coffee served on the return trip.

On Galas and other Special Events, the Quantock Belle rolling stock is attached to a standard rake of passenger coaches and run throughout the day, serving a range of hot meals, snacks and drinks, with personal service direct to your table

Brief details of the Coastal Belle Dining Train are now available. The Railway has announced details of the forthcoming themed "Coastal Belle" service - a new feature for 2002. The programme for these evening dining trains running the round trip between Minehead and Williton has been finalised. There will be a three course meal on each night and the themes are as follows - 6 April "British Beef", 4 May "Spring Fish", 1 June "Italian Summer Evening", 13 July "Somerset Special" and 5 October "Harvest Home". The cost is £28 per adult and £15 per child. There are also some special themed packages in conjunction with the Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster. For more details and bookings please ring 01643 704996.
