Enjoy the pleasures of a steam train ride through the Somerset countryside and a visit to the Gardens at Hestercombe...
On Wednesdays from 4 July and going on to 12 September a through ticket from all Stations on the West Somerset Railway to Hestercombe Gardens near Taunton will be available. The ticket includes travel on the West Somerset Railway, the connecting bus service and entry to the Gardens. The connecting bus picks up from Bishops Lydeard Station at 11.35am or 11.50am depending on the train timetable on the day, and leaves Hestercombe House at 3.15pm for the short run back to Bishops Lydeard Station in good time for the train back along the branch. There are also Hestercombe Specials on three Sundays on 15 July (Taunton Garrison Day), on 16 Spetmber (Autumn Country Fayre) and on 7 October (Cheese and Chutney Day).
The journey starts at Minehead with the 10.15am departure, calling at all stations to Bishops Lydeard. The return train arrives back at Minehead around twenty past five in the afternoon.

Early booking is strongly recommended although tickets can be purchased on the day.
