LINESIDE PHOTOGRAPHY PERMIT

FOR USE DURING GALA EVENTS

APPLICATION FORM

Please read the following conditions applying to the issue of lineside photography permits, complete the application form and then return it, with all the requested enclosures, to West Somerset Railway (Dept LSP), The Railway Station, Minehead, Somerset, TA24 5BG.

CONDITIONS OF USE:

1. The permit is only to be used by the legitimate Holder, and must be carried whenever the Holder is on Railway property.

2. The Holder shall not interfere with Railway property and shall at all times comply with the requests of the Railway’s Officials, who have the right to inspect any permit and refuse access to the line to those without authority.

3. The Holder must keep well clear of the track when a train is approaching and, in the event of the Driver sounding the whistle or horn as a warning, must raise one hand above the head as an acknowledgement and in any event must take up a position of safety at least 2 metres from the nearest running rail.

4. The holder must either show the Permit to the Signalman at the nearest signalbox to the location chosen before entering onto the line, or must ring the Minehead Information Office (01643 704996) who will then advise the Controller of the photographer’s whereabouts.

5. The Holder must wear an ORANGE high-visibility vest or jacket, of a type common to railway operations, at all times whilst on Railway property, except in public areas.

6. The permit gives no right of access to areas outside the boundary fences of the Railway and not owned or leased by the Company. In the event of damage to our neighbours’ property or stock the WSR plc. will support any legal action taken by the neighbour. Access to the Company’s property outside public areas is granted entirely at the Holders risk.

7. Photography is forbidden in the vicinity of the Norton Manor Camp on the section between Bishops Lydeard and Norton Fitzwarren. In this area, if challenged by military patrols, the permit must be produced as a form of identification.
