Why not have a traditional British evening out with a train trip through wonderful countryside to the coast, eating chips (with fish or vegetarian option) and drinking some local wine, beer or cider as your leisurely journey proceeds?
The West Somerset Railway is running a 1960s Vintage Diesel Train from Bishops Lydeard, near Taunton, to Minehead and back again on the following Saturday evenings during 2002...
On departure from Bishops Lydeard at 7pm your specially fried food will be served to you in heat retentive containers. You will also be served with your individual bottle of local wine (or non-alcholic alternative). The train will then make a leisurely journey to Minehead, giving plenty of time to take in the beauty of the Quantock Hills and the Exmoor Coast plus the views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales.
The train will arrive in Minehead at 8.00pm, giving 90 minutes for a walk along the seafront or a stroll around the town before setting off on the return journey from Minehead at 9.30pm arriving back at Bishops Lydeard at 10.30pm.
There will be a micro buffet on the train open throughout the round trip, selling hot and cold drinks, plus beers and ciders from Somerset brewers and farms. You can also purchase cakes and sweets if you fancy a spot of "pudding" after your main meal.
Seats on the Fish & Chip Specials must be booked in advance by means of the BOOKING FORM
