The West Somerset Railway on the Web

 3,4 August 2002 - not a normal weekend

King at the Buffer Stops. ©Alan Grieve The weekend of 3 and 4 August saw the re-appearance of the ever-popular Steam Fayre and Vintage Vehicle Rally at Bishops Lydeard.

The Railway also saw some memorable sights, some captured and presented here courtesy of our regular contributors.

The through train from Leamington Spa, headed by a rather scruffy class 47, no 47732, enlivened the proceedings on the Saturday, perhaps eclipsed by the 12 coach "Somerset Coast Express" hauled by "King Edward I". Events on Sunday were spiced up with the appearance of four steam locomotives.
