 Cream & Steam - Sunday 13 October 2002

An afternoon on a journey back in time

An opportunity to enjoy a locally produced Cream Tea on a journey back in time from Minehead on a steam hauled train, on Sunday 13 October 2002 departing Minehead Railway Station at 2.25pm.

Good food, super scenery

What better way to spend an afternoon in October than on a steam train, enjoying good food on a leisurely journey back in time.

The West Somerset Railway's "Cream and Steam" offers a forty mile round trip from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard.

The train will travel to Bishops Lydeard, passing Dunster Castle and Blue Anchor Beach, before the inland climb to Washford and the return to the coast at Watchet. At Williton the train will travel inland through the Quantocks to Bishops Lydeard where you can watch the operation of the steam locomotive "running round" the train before the return to Minehead.

The WSR Cream Tea will be served after we leave Williton which will allow plenty of time for you to enjoy the experience.
